Art in the kitchen
Art on menu for new kitchen showroom
Visula artist Shameela Hussain's work is displayed at Intotos, Leeds.
Artist and designers from Batley, Dewsbury and Mirfield have teamed up with a kitchen company to create an exhibition with a difference.
Arts agency Loca has brought together artists and designers from Dewsbury and Batley with a new Intoto kitchen showroom in Leeds, which will be exhibiting the artists’ work. Andrew Hatfield, who runs the Intoto showroom in Redbrick Mill, Batley approached Loca when Intoto were looking for a way to bring something exclusive to the new showroom they were opening in Leeds.
Andrew said “We contacted Robin Widdowson at Loca because we were interested in how we could use artists to add to the design of the new showroom. We had seen the quality of some of the artists’ work and felt that it really fitted in with the style of the showroom we were opening. We hope to keep exhibiting the artwork as a permanent feature of the showroom".
